Oils for the Win: Lemon

Breathe Deep with Raven

Suzanne Rodolfich has taken over the blog this week. She loves to share about oils, and today, she's sharing about Raven: one of the newest additions to the Premium Starter Kit. 

I am so excited that Raven is now included in the Premium Starter Kit! What I love about Raven is that it includes one of my favorite single oils, Ravintsara, but it also has four other oils—lemon, peppermint, wintergreen, and eucalyptus radiata—that make it a very powerful blend.

So, how do we use it?

• This is a year round oil for us, but it is definitely in heavy rotation during the winter as part of our winter wellness routine and in the spring as we deal with all the pollen in the air.

• It’s very soothing when rubbed on joints or achy muscles.

Why Do We Need Dietary Sulfur?

Our bodies need a naturally occurring organic form of dietary sulfur (MSM) to maintain optimal health. Yep, sure does! Biologically, sulfur is one of the most important nutrients (4th most plentiful found in the body), and we need it to maintain youth, energy and much more.

• Little bit of frozen spinach or frozen kale (can use fresh)
• 2 scoops YL balance complete (11g fibre!)
• 1 tsp chia seeds (optional - again, I include for health benefits)

Refreshing Apple Cider Vinegar + NingXia Drink

Ingredients

• 3 oz of NingXia Red
• 2 TB of Raw Honey
• 2.5 TB of Gelatin
• 3 Drops Lemon Vitality
• 2 Drops of Thieves Vitality

How-To:

1. Heat NingXia and honey in a saucepan, not to a boil
2. Pull off the heat and slowly sprinkle in the Gelatin, whisk until mixed well
3. Add essential oils and whisk for 30 seconds
4. Pour into small jello molds
5. Refrigerate for 1 hour

Post-Late Night NingXia Red Cocktails

Christmas Season the Young Living Way

Alexis Peters has been learning about and using essential oils for about three years. When she’s not editing and writing for Tree of Life, she’s chasing one (or both) of her preschool sons.

At first glance, Christmas fueled by Young Living isn’t that different. There’re lights, trees, yummy food and presents. But as I slowly add more and more essential oils and Young Living products into my family’s traditions, I’m realizing that these little bottles make a big impact.

Since the season is all about sharing, here are a few small ways to take your time-honored traditions up a notch with a drop or two of your favorite essential oils.

1. Diffuse Christmas Spirit

I don’t know about you, but I can’t live without Thieves products. And surprisingly, neither can my husband. Like many husbands, he was an oil-skeptic—until I introduced him to Thieves. Now the man is Thieves-obsessed.

So let’s talk about some Thieves Hacks:

1. Thieves Spray—I carry this in my purse and diaper bag, and it’s also always in our park backpack on our many Disney trips. It’s perfect to spray on restaurant tables, grocery carts, and high chairs—really any surface that lots of people have touched—like the door handles in public bathrooms, yuck! I have even been known to spray utensils at restaurants after one of the kiddos has dropped them on the floor.

2. Thieves Household Cleaner—When people first see the price tag ($22 wholesale for 14.4 oz), they are a little taken aback—until I explain that that one bottle can make up to 30 gallons of cleaner.
